Alison Milbank is Professor of Literature and Theology at the University of Nottingham, and also Canon Theologian and Priest Vicar at Southwell Minster. Her books include Daughters of the House: Modes of the Gothic in Victorian Fiction, Dante and the Victorians, Chesterton and Tolkien as Theologians: The Fantasy of the Real and her most recent monograph is God and the Gothic: Religion, Romance and Reality in the English Literary Tradition, in which Byron features. She has also written on Byron and the supernatural in Don Juan.
