Four Mondays in May in The Palace Gardens, Minster and Chapter House
12.30pm – 2.30pm on the 2nd, 9th, 23rd and 30th May
Join local artist, Sarah Flanagan for a four-week course where you will be exploring mark making and sketching technique from life. In this course, we will be influenced by the exterior of the Archbishop’s Palace, the interior setting of the ‘Leaves of Southwell’ and the beautiful natural surrounding of the Southwell Minster. These locations will provide inspiration for you to produce drawings under Sarah’s expert guidance in order to allow your creativity to develop and help you to understand how to create images from your surroundings.
Using your imagination is strongly encouraged. At the end of this course, you will be able to produce an acrylic painting. You will be able to take away your sketchbook and the painting with you when we are finished. If you have a phone or a tablet, this may come in handy in gathering creative inspiration.
Tickets £60 for 4 sessions over 4 weeks. Booking is essential.
