Uncovering the 13th century Chapter

The Leaves of Southwell Project presents:
a talk by Victoria Arthurson, Honorary Librarian of Southwell Minster

Honorary Librarian of Southwell Minster, Victoria Arthurson will be focusing on the Prebendaries of Southwell Minster at the time the glorious Chapter House was built. Who were they? What did they do? Why were so many absent from their duties? Victoria will also explore the wider view of what it was like to live at the end of the 13th and early 14th centuries, the culture, the danger, and the Church. Illustration will include manuscripts and artefacts from the Historic Chapter Library.

Victoria Arthurson
Victoria had a varied career including being a nanny for a horse trainer and working for the army before settling down to become a full time mother and homemaker. Her passion for history was first noted as a pre-schooler when she was happy to go anywhere as long as there was a castle to explore. Having moved to Southwell nine years ago Victoria is proud to be Honorary Librarian of the Historic Chapter Minster Library and a guide at both the Minster and the Archbishops Palace. Victoria is currently involved in research on several aspects of history connected to Minster.
