Choirs at the Minster

The Cathedral Choir

The Cathedral Choir comprises the Boy Choristers, Girl Choristers, and Lay Clerks who, between them, provide music for seven choral services each week during school terms. The Boys and Girl Choristers usually sing as separate groups, combining for particularly important occasions such as Christmas and Easter services, and notable events in the life of the Minster. Regular concerts and international tours are a feature of the choir’s work.

The Minster Chorale

The Minster Chorale is the Minster's adult voluntary choir, comprising up to thirty volunteer singers who rehearse once a week and perform a number of services each term. Such services include the evening Eucharists on major feast days, including the annual All Souls Requiem and the Christmas Midnight Eucharist. In addition, the Minster Chorale regularly travels further afield, most recently performing at York Minster, Peterborough Cathedral and Tewkesbury Abbey. The Chorale celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2019 with a joint performance of Handel’s Messiah with Lincoln Cathedral Consort.
